It’s straightforward to securely wipe the data from an old iMac from 2011 and reinstall MacOS, leaving it ready for a new owner

Apple allow you to securely wipe or erase the disk drive, ensuring none of the previous users data can be recovered. And then you can reinstall MacOS on the drive. The new user can just log in with their Apple ID (or create a new one), and they’re ready to go

All this is done without any install disks: you just need a working Internet connection
